Coffee has been packaged into thousands of homes and become a necessity for many consumers. Coffee packaging material, to consider the aroma of coffee, but also consider whether convenient. So what material does the coffee package choose? Let's start with coffee beans.

How did you get the coffee?

Coffee is a drink made from roasted and ground coffee beans. As one of the world's three major drinks, coffee, along with cocoa and tea, is the main drink popular in the world.

Coffee is made by peeling, drying and grinding. Manufacturers will add the corresponding flavor additives according to the taste of coffee, and then package and sell.

What makes coffee delicious is its aroma; And the aroma starts to lose the moment it's finished baking. No matter how expensive coffee beans are, if they are not fresh, they will not taste good. Some of the flavor will dissipate if you don't drink it for the first three days after the beans are roasted. The compounds in the beans are affected by oxidation, and the flavor will become negative. So the coffee on the supermarket shelf is usually slightly oily. Because from foreign baking, imported to the shelves, generally take several months. The "taste period" is long past.

Coffee is packaged to retain as much aroma as possible.

Roasted coffee beans (powder) packaging

Generally divided into bags and cans.

One, bag

Coffee is a kind of strong fragrance products, preservation it needs a good sealing effect, due to the requirements of anti-oxidation will generally use opaque plastic composite materials, as well as more environmentally friendly kraft paper composite materials. Aluminum foil is also more common, the use of pure aluminum sealing performance, can be a good protection of the original flavor of coffee, do not lose aroma, not easy to be damp, avoid light. Aluminum foil material colorless, odorless, non-toxic, can directly contact food, so the use of coffee, also includes cost considerations. In addition, the common material of coffee bag is easy to tear film, this material is very suitable for the current popular convenient trend, more to cater to the market.

Bags are generally divided into: non-airtight packaging, vacuum packaging, check valve packaging, pressure packaging.

Non-airtight packaging: is actually a temporary packaging intended for short periods of storage only.

Vacuum packing: The roasted beans need to be stored for a period of time to prevent carbon dioxide damage to the packaging, which can be stored for about 10 weeks.

Check valve packaging: Adding a check valve to the package allows the carbon dioxide produced to be removed but prevents the outside air from entering, ensuring that the beans are not oxidized but does not prevent aroma loss. The packaging can be stored for up to six months. Some coffee is also packaged with vent holes, which means that the bag is only filled with vent holes instead of a check valve. This way, once the carbon dioxide produced by the beans is drained, the outside air will enter the bag and cause oxidation, thus reducing the storage time.

Pressurized packing: Coffee beans are vacuum-packed soon after roasting and sealed with an inert gas. This type of packing is strong enough to protect the beans from oxidation and aroma loss. It can be stored for up to two years.

Ii. Canning

Cans are usually made of metal or glass, with plastic LIDS for easy sealing.

Instant coffee packaging

Instant coffee packaging is relatively simple, generally using a small sealed packaging bag, to strip mainly, in addition, there will be a packing box. Of course, some instant coffee is available in cans.

Different kinds of coffee packaging materials are not the same, the general raw bean export packaging material is simple, ordinary gunny bag material. Instant coffee packaging also has no special material requirements, basically using general food packaging materials.

Some instant coffee, inside will also have small size packaging hanging ear coffee bag. Hanging ear coffee bags generally choose ordinary non-woven material (i.e. PP+PE). In the environment of environmental protection, some brands have begun to use PLA non-woven material, which can be composted and degradable, and is more healthy, safe and environmental friendly.
